With room for wider tires and mounts for fenders and racks, it is ready for mixed terrain right out of the box. What's New. These latest builds now feature our Wabi Pro headset, made for us by FSA based on their premium Orbit-X design, as stock. In addition, we've adjusted the frame design to accommodate a wider range of cantilever, V-brake, and mini-V brake options.
Lightweight By Design. The Thunder’s heat-treated, double-butted Reynolds 725 chromoly frame is built to be light enough for fast city riding yet strong enough to handle mixed terrain. Oversized main tubes and slim stays keep the bike responsive and smooth, giving you a versatile ride that adapts easily to where you take it, all without adding unnecessary weight.
Ready For Any Route. Thunder’s geometry is built for longer days, rougher surfaces, and more varied terrain than a traditional track frame. It delivers stability when the pavement gets patchy, comfort on extended rides, and confident handling through fast corners, bike lanes, and light gravel paths.
Precision In Every Component. Each Thunder complete build includes proven, durable components from brands like Tektro, FSA, Tange, Andel, and Kenda. Every part is chosen for reliability and performance on mixed surfaces, keeping the bike smooth, predictable, and low-maintenance.
Purpose-Built Versatility. The Thunder’s fork and frame include mounts for fenders and racks, giving you the flexibility to set it up for commuting, adventure rides, or all-weather use. Removable cantilever brake posts let you choose from a range of brake styles to match your needs, whether you want more power, extra clearance, or a specific feel. With room for tires up to 44 mm, the Thunder adapts easily to the kind of riding you want to do.
Simplicity, Evolved. While the Thunder expands where you can ride, it still stays true to the Wabi philosophy. The clean lines, logo-free aesthetic, and thoughtful steel craftsmanship highlight the bike itself—no distractions, just a well-built machine ready to roll.
Built For You. Every Thunder is built to order from the frame up, with free choices for bar style, saddle, and gearing. Premium upgrades from Brooks, Sugino, SRAM, Phil Wood, Fizik, and more are also available at special discounted pricing.
BASE SPECS
- Frame: TIG-welded Reynolds 725 double-butted, heat-treated tubing.
- Fork: Brazed tapered chromoly steel with an investment cast crown, 1 1/8" steerer, and forged fork ends.
- Wheels: Lightweight 700c tubeless-ready wheels with black machined rims, silver sealed-bearing, flip-flop hubs, and silver 32h double-butted spokes.
- Crankset: Cold-forged alloy crank arms, 144BCD. NOTE: We currently have 170mm (default) or 165mm available in black, and only 165mm in silver.
- Gearing: 46T chainring; 18T freewheel & 18T fixed cog. Freewheel/single speed is the default on the drive side.
- Chain: 1/2" x 3/32" single speed chain.
- Brakes: Forged aluminum cantilever brakes mounted to removable cantilever posts.
- Saddle: Synthetic leather in a choice of racing, sport, or comfort fit.
- Seatpost: 27.2mm alloy post with 24mm setback single-bolt design.
- Stem: 26mm clamp alloy stem with -17 degree rise for a classic horizontal-stem look. Length based on frame size HERE.
- Headset: 1-1/8" threadless sealed-bearing design.
- Handlebars: Alloy bars in 5 styles with width based on frame size HERE.
- Tires: 700C x 35mm Kenda all-terrain tires.

BUILD NOTES
- Colors. The latest options are Mystic Green, a dark metallic green, and Glass Gray, a warm medium solid gray. Custom colors are also an option. See our FAQ for the process.
- What's New. These new builds feature our Wabi Pro headset, made for us by FSA based on their premium Orbit-X design, as stock.
- Turnaround times. Check HERE for our latest estimated turnaround time for builds. Timing can vary depending on our order backlog.
- Build Options Overview. Check HERE for an explanation of the options and upgrades in the dropdown menus.
- Customizing. If you also want to change the gear ratio/setup, stem length, handlebar width, brake setup, or whatever else, just let us know in the 'Build Requests / Instructions' comment box. There is usually no charge.
- Assembly. Note that our bikes come 90%+ assembled* and most customers can assemble themselves. This saves you the time and cost of taking the bike to a bike shop for assembly. * Note: 58cm and 60cm Thunders will now require fork reinstallation and rear wheel retensioning. See the assembly page for more info.
- Cancellation and Returns. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy on builds. Given our builds are made to order, they are not returnable.
